Badger Meter SDI series impeller flow sensors offer unparalleled performance for liquid flow measurement in closed
pipe systems in an economical, easy to install package. Designed for insertion or hot tap installations, SDI series
flow sensors offer a quick response to changes in flow rate and are well suited to flow control and batch type
applications in addition to flow monitoring.
The Badger Meter SDI series measures flow rates from under 0.3 ft/sec to over 20 ft/sec. A proprietary digital
detection circuit allows the meter to achieve accuracies of up to ±1 % regardless of the conductivity or turbidity
of the liquid. The SDI series insertion style sensor is intended for general flow measurement applications on pipes
ranging from 1-1/2 to 36 or more inches. They are available in either brass or stainless steel construction and
install directly into pipes via a 1" tap. Hot tap sensors feature an isolation valve and mounting hardware to
install or remove the sensor from a pipeline that is in service at the time of installation or cannot be de-pressurized
and drained for service. The hot tap sensors are constructed of 316 stainless steel and are rated for service to 1000
psi and 180° F.
The Badger Meter SDI series includes a rugged, four-bladed, non-fouling impeller which does not require custom
calibration. The sensors can be configured for bi-directional flow as well as battery powered electronics.
Additionally, there are a number of options for output, display and materials allows users to customize the sensor
to nearly any application.
